Emmit Lamar Thomas Obituary

In humble submission to the will of God, we respectfully announce the earthly transition of Mr. Emmit Lamar Thomas, on July 7, 2021 in the Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.  He was 53 years old and a native of Washington County, Florida. 

Emmit was born on December 5, 1967 in Chipley, Florida to Willie James & Lorene (Sheffield) Thomas. He was reared in a Christian home and attended the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Chipley, Florida.  Emmit was worked with his brothers in the concrete & construction business.

He leaves to cherish his memories a beloved wife: Melinda (Zoller) Thomas of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; four (4) daughters: LaTara Thomas of Chipley, Florida, Veronica Carson of Pensacola, Florida, Breana Thomas and Nakia Thomas, both of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; two (2) sons: Robert Breland of Richardson, Texas, and Emmit Lamar Thomas, Jr. of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; four grandchildren: Kierstyn Smith, Kyndle Thomas, King Carson, and Messiah Carson; four sisters: Loaine Hooks of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Francis Thomas of Dothan, Alabama, Reshanunda Thomas of Tallahassee, Florida, and Lakitha Thomas of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; three brothers: Charles Hooks, Rev. Willie J. (Brenda) Sheffield, both of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, and Jerome Thomas of Chipley, Florida; aunt: Myrtle Brantley of Pensacola, Florida; uncle: Joe Thomas of Chipley, Florida; along with a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Emmit was preceded in death by his mother, Lorene Thomas; sister: Donna Thomas-Georgia; and brother: Greg Hooks.
