Mr. Sylvester Jones, age 70, of Temple Texas; a previous resident of Ozark, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021.
Visitation will be Friday, July 16, 2021 from 4 PM to 6 PM at J.L. Trawick Memorial Chapel, 1048 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 2 PM at J.L. Trawick Memorial Chapel, 1048 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
Burial will immediately follow the service at Traveler's Rest Cemetery in Ozark, Alabama.
Sylvester was born November 8, 1950, to Beatrice Perry and James Banks, Sr. in Martinez, California.
Sylvester joined the army on March 24, 1971, in New Orleans, Louisiana. During his time in the army, he was stationed at the following duty stations: Germany, Fort Rucker, Alabama, Vietnam, Fort Hood, Texas, and Fort Riley, Kansas. He was honorably discharged on November 20, 1984.
On Wednesday, July 7, 2021, Sylvester Jones departed this earthly home.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Rev. S.J. Bullard, Beatrice Bullard, and James Banks Jones, Sr.; three brothers: Huey L. Jones, James Jones III and Melvin Bullard; one grandson: Quinten Jeremiah Gaskin.
He leaves to cherish his memories: two children: Chauncey (Kendle) Jones of Panama City Beach, Florida and Charmane (La'Darius) Gaskin of Ozark, Alabama; two sisters: Beatrice Jones Vanzant of Alexandria, Louisiana and Barbara Bullard of Harvey, Louisiana; two brothers: Rodney Bullard of Harvey, Louisiana and Rev. Bobby Bullard of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren: Alexius Derrick, Kennedi, Jarvis and Ma'Niyah; two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
