Betty Mae Eagle

Betty Mae Eagle, 86, of Rainelle, passed away Monday, July 12, 2021, in the Bower’s Hospice House, Beckley, following a short illness. Born March 7, 1935, in Craigsville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mildred Martin Puckett. Betty may be remembered from her time working at the sewing factory before it closed and most recently from her 27 years of work at Heartland of Rainelle (now Stonerise) Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rainelle. She loved spending time with her family and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers Kenneth Puckett (Della) and Harry “Joe” Puckett. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Billy Eagle; two sons, Kenny Eagle (Sandy Highlander) of McRoss and Keith Eagle (Sylvia) of Smoot; two brothers Wayne Puckett (Linda) of Craigsville, Virginia and Chalres Puckett (Delores) of Staunton, Virginia; one sister Daisy Blevins (Donnie) of Craigsville, Virginia; five grandchildren Tywanna Walker (Bobby), Kelly Morgan (Rob), Sabrina Allen (Jodi), Kim Mullett (Nathan), and Sherman Eagle; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 15, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Chad Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call one hour before the service from 12 – 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
