Mr. Ellis A. Beshears, age 90 of Purlear, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 3, 2017 at Yellow Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Ratliff officiating. Burial with military honors by Post 1142 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Mr. Beshears was born December 2, 1926 in Wilkes County to Aaron H and Eugenia Teague Beshears. He served in the United States Army and was a member of Yellow Hill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Helen Faye Church Beshears and one brother; Kyle Beshears. He is survived by one daughter; Carol Beshears Denny of the home, one grandson; Brandon Denny and wife Erica of Purlear, two great grandchildren; Elijah Denny, Trevor Wagoner and one sister; Aliene Haas of Lenoir.
