Shamokin – Avis I. (Fegley) Bowers, 58, of 56 S Shamokin Street, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Shamokin on July 22, 1962 she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Marian (Rook) Fegley. She graduated from Shamokin High School. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

Avis enjoyed baking, sewing, painting ceramics, and arranging flowers, which she did for her family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her fiancé, and her family, especially her grandchildren.

Avis is survived by a companion, Javier Pantoja; a daughter, Marian Ginck and her husband, Jeffrey of Coal Township; a son, Zachary Bowers and his wife, Amber of Shamokin; six grandsons, Stephen Smith, Peyten Smith, Hayden Smith, Collin Bowers, Caydin Bowers, and Andrew Leffler; two granddaughters, Madisen Smith and Carringten Smith; a brother, Wayne Fegley Jr., and his wife, Carol of Selinsgrove; a sister, Nancy Smith and her husband, Charles of Shamokin; a sister-in-law, Nancy Fegley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Avis was preceded in death by a daughter, Ashley Nahodil; a sister, Naomi Barber and her husband, John; and a brother, Rick Fegley.

Avis I (Fegley) Bowers, 58, of 56 S Shamokin Street, Shamokin – Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 7:00 pm with Vicar Allison Carnahan, officiating, at Farrow-C.J.  Lucas Funeral and Cremation Service, 240 W Chestnut Street, Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor.
