Elizabeth Jean Nelson

Elizabeth Jean Nelson, 93, of Getman Road, Fonda, NY; passed away Monday July 12, 2021 at the Teresian House in Albany, NY. Born on January 24, 1928 in Oneida, NY; she was the daughter of the late John and Ethel Mae Bennett Harrison. She received her education in the Oneida school system and was a homemaker. Jean was a parishioner and communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Tribes Hill, NY. Jean loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jean was united in marriage to Raymond D. Nelson May 29, 1948, and who predeceased her February 24, 1994. Jean is survived by two sons, Rev. Daniel C. Nelson O.F. M. Siena College, Loudonville, NY, and Michael Nelson (Kelly Ann) of Clifton Park, NY; two daughters, Patricia A. Roy of Fulton, NY and Denise Rae Bernbeck (Michael) of Saline, MI; eight grandchildren, Alison R. Leb, Amy M. Kunzwiler, Andrea L. Kidney, Kathleen E. Bozelak, Kyle C. Bozelak, Patrick N. Bernbeck, Michael W. Abele and Jack N. Nelson, six great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jean was also predeceased by one sister, Norma Harrison and two brothers, Donald and Robert J. Harrison. Relatives and friend are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 111 Third Avenue, Tribes Hill, NY. A visitation at Sacred Heart Church will be held prior to the mass from 9:00 to 10:00. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt, NY.
