Obituary

On Friday, July 9th, Pauline Eva Bowden (née Burgess), loving wife of Roy Bowden and proud mother of three, passed away at the age of 68.

Pauline was born on April 8th, 1953, in Liverpool, England. She was the chosen daughter of Brian and Mary Burgess. She grew up in New Mills, Derbyshire, England where she met and married her husband of 48 years, Roy Bowden. Pauline had an interesting and varied career, beginning with a job at the Swizzels Matlow Candy factory (a job that her daughters imagined was a dream job) and culminating in becoming the owner and operator of her own businesses. Roy and Pauline raised three daughters, Rachel, Lisa and Joanne.

Pauline had a passion for spoiling her nine grandchildren and was crazy about all things Christmas.  She was known for her kindness and her compassion. Pauline had an amazing ability to see the best in people, and to give people a chance often when others would not. Her family will honour her memory by continuing her legacy of love.

Pauline was predeceased in death by her parents Mary and Brian Burgess. She is survived by her husband Roy, her three daughters, Rachel (Kerry) Wild, Lisa (Russ) Reimer, and Joanne (Dustin) Peacock. She will be missed by her nine grandchildren Christopher, Courtney, Zachary, Mackenzie, Brooklynn, Sydney, Austin, Brandon, Jackson and her great grandson, Cody. Pauline will be remembered forever by her extended family in England and Ireland and her dear friends, especially Tanya Vogrincic.

Our family would like to extend our thanks to the care that she received from homecare services and the continuing care services at the Edson Healthcare Centre. We would especially like to thank nurses Tania, Ellen and Brenda for their compassion, empathy and kindness in helping us navigate Pauline’s last days. You are truly examples of what it means to be caregivers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Pauline’s memory to the MS Society of Canada or Diabetes Canada.

Service Details will be shared once finalized.
