Giannino D Tonelli, loving husband and father, age 88 passed away in his sleep on July 7th, 2021. He is survived by his wife Gloria, son Stephen, daughter in-law Marianne and grandkids Johnathon and Julia. Giannino was born in Rovereto, Italy on January 6th, 1933 to his parents Guido and Gioconda. While in Italy, he attended college, served in the Italian Air Force, and met and married his wife Gloria. In 1959 they moved to America. Giannino worked as an Engineer for GM for over 30 years and in his free time enjoyed working around the house on various projects, fixing anything that was broken, and traveling with Gloria to Northern Michigan and different parts of the world. Giannino also enjoyed spending time at the Italian Cultural Center and participating with different local Italian groups including The Italian Study Group of Troy, The Trentino Club, and The Venetian Club. He supported many charities including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The American Red Cross, and Wounded Warriors.
