John E. Schenberger Sr.

John E. Schenberger Sr. of Voorhees, formerly of Pennsauken, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2021 at 82 years. Beloved husband for 60 years to Wynette (nee Hensley); Devoted father of John E. Schenberger Jr. (Cathy) and James E. Schenberger (Karen); Loving grandfather of Ashley, Courtney, John III, Alexis, Matthew, and Janina and great grandfather of Emma; Dear brother of Robert Schenberger, Walter Schenberger, Isabel Barr and Sally (Charlie) Gaines; Also survived by many loving nieces & nephews. John was a proud Veteran of the National Guard who served during 1956 to 1960. Prior to retirement he worked 30 years with the Delaware River Port Authority and served lastly as a Lieutenant. He also volunteered many years with the Pennsauken First Aid Squad and volunteered as a Fire fighter with Pennsauken, Station 2 where he reached the position of Chief. His countless and dedicated time he gave to our community will never be forgotten. Relatives & friends are invited to the Visitation Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM at Falco Caruso & Leonard Funeral Home, 6600 Browning Road in Pennsauken. At the request of the family, final disposition will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
