Johnnie Marie Burns McKnight 1930 – 2021 Johnnie Marie Burns McKnight, 90 of Catlettsburg, KY went to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Woodland Oaks Heath Care Facility, her loving family at her side. Mrs. McKnight was born August 16, 1930 in Catlettsburg, KY to the late Arthur H. and Anna Wooten Burns. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Albert McKnight, Jr, her brother, Cecil Burns, sisters, Virginia Ross, Pauline Compton, Amelia Hatfield, and brothers-in-law, Bill Ross, Charles Compton, Henry Hatfield and Ernest Armstrong. Johnnie attended Boyd County Schools and retired in 1992 after working nearly 30 years at Cooper Elementary and Catlettsburg Junior High School in the cafeterias, retiring as Cafeteria Manager. Her hobbies were singing, gardening, taking care of her family and cooking. She was a member of Whites Creek Methodist Church. Surviving are her sons, David McKnight, his wife Stephanie, of Flatwoods, KY and Randy McKnight, his wife Cindy, of Catlettsburg, KY; grandchildren, Alison Moore (Stephen), Ashley Hamrick (Jason) and Patrick McKnight (Jenny); great grandchildren, Adison Moore, Emmett McKnight, and Emma Keller. Also surviving is her sister Karline Armstrong, and sisters-in-law, Myrtle Parker, Betty Barker and Ruth Burns. A Celebration of Life Service to celebrate Johnnie will be at 1:00pm, Monday, July 12, 2021 at the Neal Funeral Home, 2409 Center Street, Catlettsburg. Pastor Danny Wallace will officiate. Final resting place in Arthur Cemetery on Silver Run Road. Visiting hours are 11:00am until Service Time Monday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY 41101 or Whites Creek United Methodist Church, 7334 Whites Creek Road, Catlettsburg, KY 41129.
