Sydney Beal Obituary

Sydney Mickelson Beal “The Balloon Lady” passed away on July 8, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. Sydney was born on March 24, 1950 to Elma (Stubbs) Mickelson and Frank Desmon Mickelson. Sydney grew up and spent most of her life in Lovell Wyoming.

Sydney had a deep love for her community and spent many years serving both on the Chamber of Commerce and the City Council. She graduated from Lovell High School in 1968 and attended the University of Wyoming. Sydney was a fixture in the community where she owned and operated the Shoppe Unique for 40 years. She loved to draw and paint and enjoyed dressing up as Bubbles the Clown for the Mustang day parade. She spent much of her time in the mountains and nature. Often she would take time in the summer to go camping with her family or husband Charles Beal and spent several days each year running cattle drives with her brothers. She was a devoted mother to her son Skye Ray Mickelson. She spent her life caring for her family and dearly loved her grandchildren. Sydney was a blessing in the lives of those she knew and will be greatly missed.

Sydney was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Elma Mickelson, her sister Frankalene Mickelson and her brother Wendall Mickelson (Sandy Mickelson).

She is survived by her husband Charles Beal; her son Skye Ray Mickelson and his wife Mindy Mickelson; daughter, Yvonne Crawford; her grandchildren Jaccob and Elizabeth Mickelson, Joseph and Taylor Mickelson, Temperance Mickelson, Cardon Mickelson and Kathryn Mickelson; her brothers and sisters Barbara and Tim Austin, Julia Mitchell, F Dee and Marjorie Mickelson, Leon and Janet Mickelson and Edgar and Nancy Mickelson.
