Judson Carl Sodergren, 84, of Wheaton, passed away June 23, 2021. Beloved husband of Marilyn Sodergren for 52 years; loving father of Andrea Vahl and Julie (Shawn) Stevens; proud and cherished grandfather of Devin Vahl, Henry Vahl, Owen Stevens, and Avery Stevens; dear brother of Marcia Ford; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl & Eunice Sodergren and his sister Marilyn Romaneski. Judson Carl had a varied career that included titles of Pastor, Teacher, Guidance Counselor, Rental Property owner, and Title Searcher. He was also an active member of St. Paul Lutheran church in Wheaton for many years. His impact as a volunteer and active member of the community was felt by many, most notably through his efforts at the People's Resource Center in Wheaton and Exodus World Service. His spirited engagement in helping refugees and the homeless through literacy programs, jobs training programs, computer classes, citizenship classes and the variety of many other ways Judson Carl lent a helping hand in the community will be dearly missed. His friends and family will especially miss his sense of humor, the twinkle in his eye when he let you in on a joke, and the kind and thoughtful ways he connected with others. Visitation Saturday July 17, 2021, from 10-10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church 515 S. Wheaton Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187. Funeral Service 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the church, followed by Fellowship.
