Lynn C. Sherrie

Lynn C. Sherrie, age 79, of Wilson, husband of Helen (Reese) Sherrie entered into rest suddenly on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at home. Lynn was born on September 2, 1941, in Lockport, NY. He is the son of the late Norbert and the late Iola (Rohring) Sherrie. Lynn was a 1959 graduate of Wilson H.S where he excelled at basketball and track. He married his high school sweetheart Helen Reese on June 17, 1961. Lynn retired in 1984 after 26 years from Bell Aerospace in Wheatfield, NY. He was a past member of the Wilson Lions Club, long time member of the Wilson Historical Society and life member of 57 years with Wilson Fire Co. #1, spending 14 of those years as President. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent 40 years hunting in the southern tier with his 7 hunting cabin partners. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Reese) Sherrie; a daughter, Paula (Brian) Schrader; his sister Joanne (Lee) Mansfield; a daughter in law, Angie Sherrie; four grandchildren, Andrea Schrader, Joseph (Kimberly) Schrader, Layne Sherrie, and Brook Baker; 2 great grandchildren, Riley, and Wyatt Schrader. He is predeceased by his Son, Lon Sherrie, and brother, Roger Sherrie. Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 12 from 3-7 PM at the Hardison Funeral Home, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, NY. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 13 in the funeral home with Rev. Ron Haefer officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery following.
