Carl Salvesen, 90, of North Caldwell, died on July 8, 2021. Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Wednesday from 4pm through 6pm in the Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Avenue, Roseland, NJ 07068. Carl was raised in Norway, moved to the USA in the 1950’s settling in the Oranges for some time. He then built his family home in North Caldwell, where he has resided since 1963. During the Korean War, he honorably served in the US Army. Prior to his retirement, he was a carpenter by trade. He was a longtime attendee of Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Essex Fells. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading the newspaper and visiting with friends. He is pre-deceased by his wife, Solveig Salvesen and his siblings, Per Salvesen, Tordis Hennie, and Daniel Salvesen. He is survived by his beloved son, Steve Salvesen and a host of extended relatives. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Calvary Evangelical Free Church.
