MILTON LOUIS PHILLIPS,<br>87, of Cass City, died peacefully Thursday, July 8, 2021 following a brief illness in his home. He was born May 7, 1934 in Deford to Milton and Elizabeth (Sandor) Phillips. He married Brenda Sue Griffith September 6, 1969 in Novesta Church, Cass City. She died January 4, 2017.<br> <br>Milton graduated from Cass City High School in 1952. He served in the United States Navy for four years as a submariner, diesel mechanic and scuba diver. Milton hired into Ford Motor company in 1963 as an engineer and retired as a general foreman in 1994. He loved giving his famous tractor rides and playing cards. Milton truly enjoyed life, loved to eat, and was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers. Affectionately known as "Uncle Milt” while he supported many of the Cass City School sport teams. <br> <br>Milton is survived by his children: Cheryl (Lyndon) Crane of Cass City, Shelly (Kenneth) Meredith of Snover, Susan (Steven) Wynn of Unionville, Elizabeth Phillips (Victor Pohlod) of Cass City, John Phillips of Cass City; grandchildren: Coren Crane, Leah (Jesse) Howard, Emily Crane, Nicole Meredith, Anna (Andy) Blackwell, Ian Wynn, Molly Wynn, Haley (Andreas) Dixon, Lucas Swiderski, Lance Swiderski, Abby Sue Phillips, Isabelle Brenda Phillips; six great-grandchildren; many special nieces and nephews.. He is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda; son, Milton Dennis Phillips; sisters: Peggy Regnerus, Cathy Bayshore; brothers: Mike Phillips, Gus Phillips, Sam Springstead, Ivan Springstead, Ronald Springstead. <br><br>Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2021 in Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Cass City with Rev. Theo Nnabugo officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery. Military honors conducted by the Cass City V.F.W. Post #3644 and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Elizabeth Phillips to benefit the Cass City Sports Programs or Compassus Hospice. MILTON LOUIS PHILLIPS,
87, of Cass City, died peacefully Thursday, July 8, 2021 following a brief illness in his home. He was born May 7, 1934 in Deford to Milton and Elizabeth (Sandor) Phillips. He married Brenda Sue Griffith September 6, 1969 in Novesta Church, Cass City. She died January 4, 2017.
