Curtis Shepherd
<p><span style="font-size:16px;">Curtis Shepherd was born May 28, 1948, at Asher, Kentucky to the union of the late Sheldon and Verna Collett Shepherd. He had been a life-long resident of Leslie County and was residing at Cutshin, Kentucky at the time of his passing. Curtis was a United States Army Veteran, having served honorably in Vietnam as a door gunner and medic. By occupation, Curtis was a former heavy equipment operator and bus driver. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, riding his four-wheeler, playing his instruments and singing. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with children and family.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;">Curtis passed away Thursday, July 08, 2021, at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center at the age of 73.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;">In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas, Dale and Woodrow Shepherd, and his first wife, Cinda Shepherd.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;">Curtis leaves behind, his loving & devoted wife, Vicky Kilburn Shepherd, whom he wed on November 01, 2014; two stepsons, Dustin Kilburn of Wooton, KY and Frankie Simpson & Tammy of Mozelle, KY. Other survivors include, six brothers, Sheldon “J.R.” Shepherd, Jr. & Helen of Essie, KY, Ernest Shepherd & Evonne of Manchester, KY, Raymond Shepherd & Becky of GA, Lonnie Shepherd & Nancy of Cumberland, KY, Asher Shepherd & Linda of Brookville, IL and Alan Shepherd & Connie of London, KY. Three cherished grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;">Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. – Monday, July 12, 2021, at the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow at the Lewis Cemetery at Yeaddiss, KY with full military rites observed by Leslie County D.A.V. Chapter # 133. The Shepherd family will receive friends at the Wolfe & Sons chapel from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. – Sunday evening. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><em>Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.</em></span></p>May 28, 1948 - July 8, 202105/28/194807/08/2021
