Mrs. Betty Lance McNeil, age 74 of Purlear passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at her home. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 7, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church in Purlear with Rev. Mike Stamper officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. McNeil was born September 4, 1941 in White County, Tennessee to Frank and Willie Arch Lance. She was a retired caregiver. Her passion was caring for her husband and she had a love of the outdoors as she spent many hours tending to her flowers and feeding birds and squirrels. She was preceded in death her parents. She is survived by her husband; James "Herbert" McNeil of the home and several nieces and nephews.
