Mrs. Annie Louise Curry, beloved wife, mother, daughter, aunt, cousin, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away July 8, 2021 at Covenant Healthcare Hospital, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Age 67 years. She was born on May 13, 1954, in Michigan to Peter Haul and Annie Early (Braylock) Woods. She was raised in Chicago, Illinois, and married Kenneth Curry at a young age. Annie was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated high school with the Class of 1972. She had been employed at St. Mary’s as well as volunteered at First Baptist Church because she loved to help others. She was an active member of Greater Impact International Ministries. Annie was a very outgoing, loving, frank person, and very family-oriented. She had a way of making everybody feel special. She always made a way for others, even if it was coming before herself. She loved getting dolled up, which included getting her hair, nails, lashes, and pedicures, and enjoying others company. She leaves to cherish loving memory three daughters, Pastor Angela (George) Parkes, Annie (Aaron) Evans, Arica (Derek) Collins; two sons, Anthony Curry, Arnold (Heather); grandchildren, Alexia, Tyrone, Roman, Ronnie Jr. (De’erica), Crystal, JaVontea, Quintorreya, Arnyesha, Alexis, Latrell, JaKayla, Anthony Jr., Dequavius, Antaya, De’Arah, Derek, Dedrek, De’Aric, Antonio, Antavion, Ar’marion; one sister, Vera Woods; two brothers, Sherman (Rita) Woods, Richard Woods; fourteen nieces and nephews, including special nieces Dameka and Sharia Woods, Yvonne Laster; two uncles, Ben Braylock, Minneapolis, Minnesota and George Woods, Dallas, Texas; aunts/sisters, Georgeanna Slaughter, Margaret Braylock, Boston, Massachusetts, Manning Braylock, Essiedeen Braylock, Earnestine Howard, and Essiemae Stockling, all of Chicago, Illinois; special animal, Ocean Evans; many great-grandchildren, other loved ones and friends, including her godchildren Jayln Wilkerson, Lashonta Laury, Ora Black, Quintella Johnson, Diarra Wilkerson, Crystal Flowers, NiKivba Conner and Frankie Lindsey, special friend, Deanna Hill, very special friend, Curtis Tate, who held a special place in her heart. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Annie Woods; grandmothers, Margaret Braylock and Estelle Woods; brother, Peter Woods, Jr.; sister, Margaret Parks; grandson, Tyrone “Skeeter” Curry; granddaughter, Aaliyah Curry-Caldwell; great-grandson, Antonio Banks; nephews, Peter Martin and Richard Blunt; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of other family and friends.
