Gwendolyn Davis Kromis

<p>Gwendolyn D. Kromis, 92, went home to walk with her Lord and Savior on July 8th 2021.</p> <p>Born in Pond Creek on December 1st, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Esther and Edmund Williams. She later moved to Upper Lehigh and Freeland where she resided for over 80 years before moving to Drums for the remainder of her life.</p> <p>She began working at Grant&#39;s department store in Freeland, before moving on to Tungsol/Wagner Electric.&nbsp; She also spent many years volunteering at the Freeland Food Pantry.</p> <p>Gwenie, a lifetime and loving member of Bethel Baptist Church of Freeland.&nbsp; That &quot;Little Church on the Hill&quot; is where she devoted much of her time, helping it to grow.&nbsp; She was a Sunday School teacher since the age of 13.&nbsp; She helped organize and lead Youth Groups, Bible Schools, she was a member of the church choir, Mystery Sisters, and Ladies Class.&nbsp; Also a board member and moderator, she was loved by her church family and will surely be missed.</p> <p>She is survived by a daughter Sara Jane Wenner, Sara&#39;s husband Tom, the son she never had, and granddaughter, love of her life, Morgan; all of Drums.&nbsp; In addition she is survived by sisters Ester Wray, Arlington, VA; Elinor Reese, Walnutport; as well as many sister and brother-in-laws.&nbsp; Along with many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews that she adored and loved.&nbsp;</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Donald J. Kromis; along with many of her sisters and brothers whom she dearly loved and missed; Lewis and David Williams, Mary Jane Heckler, Llewellyn Williams, Phyllis Kauffman, Blodwyn Smith, Beatrice Taylor, Ruth Effrig, Edmund &quot;Buddy&quot; Williams, Rebecca Russell, and William &quot;Billy&quot; Williams.</p> <p>Her Funeral will be held Monday, July 12, 2021 at 10am in Bethel Baptist Church, 727 Ridge St., Freeland, PA 18224.&nbsp; Friends may call at Harman Funeral Homes &amp; Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums on Sunday evening from 6 to 8pm and also at Bethel Church on Monday morning from 9 to 10am.&nbsp; Burial will follow in Freeland Cemetery.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Bethel Baptist Church for the Youth Group and for the restoration of the Esther Davis Williams Memorial Chapel.&nbsp; Contributions can be sent or given to Sara Jane.</p> <p>Online condolences can be entered and more information is available at www.harmanfuneral.com.&nbsp;</p>
