Danny Earl Smith
66, of Port Huron, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021, peacefully with family at McLaren Port Huron Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
He was born in Port Huron, Michigan on August 4, 1954, son of the late Charles and Caroline (Sargent) Fernandez.
Dan was a business owner and operated Custom Mold and Engineering in Marysville for many years. He loved going up north, especially to his cabin near West Branch. Dan enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing softball in his younger years, and watching sports. Recently, he became active in his yard, making sure everything was pristine. Dan loved spending time with his family, his significant other, Geri, and he enjoyed the daily phone calls from his grandson.
He is survived by his son, Darren Smith of Lapeer; daughter, Keaton (Duran) Bumgardner of Fort Gratiot; grandchildren, Ethan Bumgardner, Landan Bumgardner, and Claire Smith; significant other, Geri Gibson; sister, Marcie (Greg) Horn of Port Huron; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Smith
Cremation arrangements were provided by Smith Family Funeral Home of Port Huron. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
