Mrs. Paula Marie Smith Apple, age 65, of Whitsett, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at her residence after several months of failing health.

     A native of Guilford County, she was the daughter of Silas Richard Smith, who survives, and the late Nancy Jane Greeson Smith. She was married for over 44 years to

Timothy Loften Apple, who survives. Paula retired from Marsh and McLennan Insurance Agency with over 20 years of service and was a member of Hico Baptist Church. She was

a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

     Mrs. Apple is survived by her husband of the home; her father; two daughters, Amanda Apple Newsome and Angela Apple Nellis and husband, Steven; three grandchildren,

Aiden Newsome, Mason Newsome and Kinsley Nellis; two sisters, Kay Smith Dinwiddie and husband, Howard, and Kathy Smith Arey and husband, David; her mother-in-law,

Nancy Hoffman Apple; and her brother-in-law, Kevin Glenn Apple.

     A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Hico Baptist Church by Pastor David Mros. The family will receive friends at the church for an hour prior to the service.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hico Baptist Church c/o the Building Fund, 4330 S. NC Hwy 87, Graham, NC 27253.
