Walter Amann, 97, of Moorestown, passed away at his daughter’s home on July 8, 2021. Walter was born in
Rottweil, Germany. He was a World War II Army veteran and served as a platoon leader in the 93rd Chemical Mortar
Battalion achieving the rank of staff sergeant, and ultimately becoming a second lieutenant in the Army Reserves. He
was awarded a bronze star for his combat service. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. He was a
builder in Philadelphia for many years until moving to Linwood, NJ, at which time he built homes in Ocean City.
Walter was married for 69 years to his beloved Cynthia until her passing in 2015. After Cynthia passed, he lived with
his daughter Natalie Fleming and her husband, Michael, and their children, Chris, Tim, and Julia. He is predeceased by two
sons, Paul Richard and Joseph Christian and his sister Hilda Doll. He is also survived by his daughter Marian (Rick Williams) and son Paul
Nicholas (Sandi Leonard) and grandchildren Joseph (Kimberly) and Laura Storm (TJ) and three great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Friday July 16 from 10-11 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Sorrows
