Lancaster-John G. McCarthy, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 8, 2021. Beloved husband of 60 years to Mary Lou (Baleyko) McCarthy; loving father to Andrea Wasik & Gregory of Lancaster; Susan McCarthy of Arlington; John R. McCarthy & Christina of San Diego, CA; William L. McCarthy & Julie of Holden; and Matthew N. McCarthy & Gloria Winquist Hedlund of Carlisle. Brother of Elaine McCarthy of Needham; adoring grandfather to Alex, Oscar, Luis, Madeline, Jeremy, Katie, Colleen, Colin, and Brenna; great-grandfather to Annabelle and Oscar; cherished uncle and friend. Pre-deceased by his sister Claire McCarthy.

Born in Boston to the late John & Catherine (Hennessey) McCarthy. Graduate of Boston English H.S., Class of 1951, and Northeastern University, Class of 1956. Career Electrical Engineer with Raytheon, North American Philips, and Varian. Jack worshipped with Framingham Friends Meeting, was a talented classical pianist, salsa dancer, and amateur radio operator. Above all, he was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Funeral Service: 10AM Monday, July 12, 2021 at Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, burial in Eastwood Cemetery, Lancaster.
