Mr. Anthony Gordon "Tony" Mathis, Sr., age 53 of North Wilkesboro, passed away Friday, September 2, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, September 5, 2016 at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Pardue officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the service at the church. Mr. Mathis was born July 2, 1963 in Wilkes County to Robert Gordon "RG" and Grace McNeil Mathis. Mr. Mathis attended Antioch Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son; Benjamin "Benji" Mathis. He is survived by a son; Anthony Mathis, Jr. and wife Kristin of Wilkesboro, two grandchildren; Gabriel and Amelia Mathis, one sister; Debbie Hayes and husband Gary of Moravian Falls, and one brother; Steve Mathis and wife Sandra of North Wilkesboro and several nieces and nephews.
