Doraine L Keller Obituary

Doraine L. (Triepke, Podoll) Keller passed away peacefully on July 3rd, 2021 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, North Dakota.

Doraine was born August 15, 1929 to Henry and Alma (Lee) Triepke in Millarton, North Dakota.  She was one of 12 children.  Doraine was a twin sister to Doris.  She attended Nortonville School and in 1948, she married Richard H. Podoll.  Doraine and Richard made Edgeley their home where they raised their three children.  She enjoyed baking, gardening and was active in the Zion Lutheran Church.  Richard passed in 1972.  Doraine was the Librarian on the book mobile for South Central area for 15 years.  She loved her job and was adored by all she served.

She married Louis J. Keller in 1987.  They continued to call Edgeley their home.  Doraine and Louis traveled, enjoyed fishing and visiting family. Louis passed away in 2010. 

Doraine and her two sisters attended auction sales, social events and enjoyed being together.

Doraine moved to Ave Marie Village in 2014.  She was active in activities of Bingo, card games, social events and church.  Doraine enjoyed following the activities of her grandchildren.  She was a big EKM Rebel fan.

Doraine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard and husband Louis, five sisters and five brothers.  Doraine is survived by her son Richard (Laurie) of Jamestown, Pamela (Dale) Strobel of Kulm, Paulette Schlenker of Fargo, one sister Joyce Podoll of Jamestown, brother-in-law Earl (Janice) Podoll of Edgeley and sister-in-law June Podoll of LaMoure.  Grandchildren Kevin (Tammy) Strobel of Kulm, Travis Strobel of Dilworth Minnesota and Justin (Heather) Schlenker of Bismarck.   Great grandchild Austin, Connor and Ally Strobel of Kulm.  Emersyn, Maddox and Kellan Strobel of Dilworth and Jack and Tatum Schlenker of Bismarck.  Doraine is also survived by step children Marilyn and George Loegering, Jeanette and James (Jim) Mathers, Barbara and Paul Loegering, Diane and Clarence (Butch) Carff, Patricia and Jerome (Jerry) German, Mary and Rodney “Rod” Anderson, Joseph “Joe” Keller. Dale and Colleen Keller, Brian Keller and Mark and Ruth Keller.  Doraine was blessed with step 52 grandchildren, 149 great grandchildren, 16 great- great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their appreciation for the care and support of the wonderful staff at Ave Maria Village.

Funeral Service- 2:30 p.m. Thursday July 8th, 2021 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Edgeley, North Dakota.

Visitation-10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at the Williams Funeral Home in Jamestown, North Dakota and 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Edgeley, North Dakota.

Burial - Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley.
