On Saturday, June 26th Fernando Yepes, loving husband of Amparo Lopera and father of Sebastian Yepes passed away at the age of 54 in his home in Toms River, New Jersey. 

The man of many talents and contagious joy was born in Santa Rosa de Osos, Colombia on November 13, 1966. The oldest of 3 siblings, Fernando was a man full of heart, always being of service to those around him and simply being the man of the party. He loved to make others laugh.
 
Fernando was committed to bringing his heart to all he did, from taking care of his team at work to making sure he broke it down on the dance floor, to making sure his family felt his love at all times. Whenever Fernando was around there was always a sense of joy present.

Fernando expressed his love best through his acts of service to others, whether it was fixing cars, computers, or random projects, he always made things happen. As his co-workers shared his motto was always, "I'm there for you."  He did all that was necessary for others to feel taken care of. 

Fernando has undergone a powerful Journey of Faith, waking up every morning to read Scripture alongside Amparo, their relationship was deeply rooted in Christ. It wasn't always like this, which has opened up space for the family to be in peace and strength, trusting he is now with God. 

Fernando embodied the meaning of family, always making sure his family was provided for. It didn't matter how late it was, or what needed to be done, anything that was needed for the family he would do whatever was necessary. A devoted family man, Fernando was a faithful husband to Amparo who is his High School sweetheart. 

In honor of Fernando's affection and love for children, in lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to be made to Operation Underground Railroad, a United States-based nonprofit organization whose stated goal is to assist government agencies in the rescue of human trafficking and sex trafficking victims, with a special focus on children, with the wider goal of eliminating sex trafficking worldwide.

He who believes in Me, though he may die, he should live" John 11:25.
