James Ronald “Ron” Chilton, 78, of Burlington passed away at his residence on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.

A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Angela Brooks Chilton, who survives and the son of W. E. Chilton and Lucille Edwards Chilton, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and a former salesman in the home improvement industry. Ron loved antique cars and NASCAR racing. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington.

In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include a son, Mark Chilton and wife Kendra of Burlington; daughter, Shelley Fuchs and husband Carsten of Garner; three grandchildren, James Nolan Chilton, Grey Willis Fuchs and Silas Corbin Fuchs; brother, David Chilton; and sister, Susan Chilton Hutchens.

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Other times, they will be at the residence of the son, Mark Chilton, 2512 Elderwood Lane, Burlington, NC.

The funeral service will be conducted at the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. by Dr. Ronald L. Shive. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington or Community Hospice.
