Kevin James Tatman Obituary

Kevin James Tatman, age 55 of Frederica passed away Tuesday June 29th, 2021.
Born May 16th, 1966 in Milford to the late James D. Tatman and Louise Messick.
Kevin was a lifelong resident of Felton and Frederica.  He graduated from Lake Forest High School and gained his mechanical education from a local Vo-Tech school.  He gained his vast knowledge and experience as an automotive technician throughout the State of Delaware.  He worked in auto shops and dealerships while turning his love for the automotive world to a small, side-business out of his garage. He later retired from Christina School District as a building and grounds supervisor.

Mr. Tatman was known for his unique skill in being able to fix anything with a motor. He could listen to something and know immediately what the issue was.  He worked relentlessly to repair vehicles or small engines for friends and family.  He also enjoyed activities such as setting up train sets, target shooting, and attending antique shows.

Kevin had a passion for entertainment and a big heart. He was known for his humor, quick wit, and bringing joy to any situation. To his friends and family, he was a source of jokes, laughter, and storytelling.

Mr. Tatman is survived by his wife Donna Burbage and her daughters Holly VanAuken and Lacey Chism, his daughter Ashlie Tatman and her husband Roman Allin of Smyrna, twin sister Teresa Wallace, her husband Tony Wallace, and nieces Katie and Sara Wallace of Greenwood, sister Joyce Reible, nephew and niece Mike Reible and Christine Gray of Maryland.

A viewing will be held from 11 am to 12 pm on Friday, July 2, 2021 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where services will be held at 12 noon. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to EC Aware: https://www.ecaware.org/give/donate/.
