Charles "Ted" Marsh Obituary

Charles “Ted” Marsh, 86, of New London, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Fisher Titus Medical Center. He was born on November 6, 1934 to the late Hazel (McFarland) and Louis Marsh.

Ted was a 1952 graduate of New London High School, where in 1951, the football team won the state championship. Ted loved sports, especially with his family. He coached in the New London Little League for ten years while his kids were in school and enjoyed attending many New London football and basketball games. He very proudly attended his grandkids’ sporting events at Michigan State, St. Ignatus, and Heritage Christian. Ted was also a big fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns; he didn’t miss a game!

He made a career in construction working for 36 years for Jennings & Churella until his retirement in 1994. Ted was a part of the construction crew on many sites around Northeast Ohio and assisted building the gazebo at Triangle Park. Ted loved helping people and could often be found working on projects for his friends and family.

In his free time, Ted enjoyed delivering for Meals on Wheels, playing cards, hunting and fishing at the New London Reservoir, and enjoying life with his family. He is loved and greatly missed.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Veronica Jane (Weaver) Marsh; children, Jeff Marsh, Julie (Axel) Hoyer, and Robin (Jennifer) Marsh; grandchildren, Brian (Lauren) Hoyer, Brett (Cari) Hoyer, Matthew (Julie) Hoyer, Lauren (Justin) Toole, Colin (Emma) Marsh, and Jared Marsh; great-grandchildren, Garrett Hoyer, Cameron Hoyer, Josie Hoyer, Lainey Hoyer, Ellie Hoyer, and Julian Toole; sister, Shirley McCoppin; special brother-in-law, Kevin (Kathy) Heileman; special nieces and nephew, Jessica (Brian) Foltz, Gabe (Missy) Heileman, Natalie (Brad) Clark; and many other special nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his siblings, Leonard Marsh, Dorothy Bone, Leah Stover, Ann Walter, Lewis “Bud” Marsh, Lois Marsh, and Norma Marsh.

His family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Fisher Titus Medical Center for their continued care for Ted during his times of injury and illness.
