Michael Raymond Allen

Michael Raymond Allen, 62-year-old Jay resident, passed away after an extended illness, on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born on November 23, 1958, in Streeter, Illinois to Duane and Vivian L. (Tucker) Allen. Michael was an outstanding ball player and graduated from Edgewood High School in West Covina, California. He worked as a brick/block mason for many years before moving to Oklahoma to be near his brother. While in Oklahoma he worked for Simmons Poultry, until his health forced his retirement. Michael was a member of the Jay First Baptist Church. He loved to watch his nephew play ball, going fishing, just being outdoors and serving in his church and spread the word of God. Michael will be remembered as a hard worker and outstanding ballplayer in his day. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family includes his brother, Richard Allen of Vinita, his nephews and nieces, Michael Allen and wife Tonya, Jeremy Allen and wife Billie Jean, Kaylynn, Jordan, Bella, Lyric, Conner, Peyton, Kylie, Zane and Jessie Cagle, and Stella Lee, cousins, Paul, Jeff, Greg, Susie and Debbie Block, Sharon Jeffries, Lisa Mason, Annie, Kellie and Nathan Lamphere, and his best friend, Kenny Crawford. A memorial service will be announced later by the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Service of Vinita.
