Louise Josephine Sawyer, age 89, of Herford, NC, passed away June 29, 2021. Louis was born in Nashville, North Carolina to Willie O. Strickland and Lacretia Strickland. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Sawyer and son, James S. Sawyer. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Grimes; granddaughter, Kimberly Sanders; and four great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 2, 2021, at 10:30 AM at Colonial Grove Memorial in Virginia Beach under the direction of Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel.
