Shirley Ann McKinley

Shirley Ann McKinley, 92, of Angleton Texas went home to her Lord and Savior on June 29, 2021. Shirley was born April 3, 1929, to parents August and Tava Merka in Wellborn, Texas. Shirley is described as the best mom and a Godly woman. Shirley was the last surviving founding member of the Central Assembly of God Church in Angleton. She loved to crochet and work on word puzzles. She also enjoyed teaching Sunday school for years. Her family also describes her as an amazing baker. She was a well-loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Shirley is preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty-seven years Robert McKinley and her parents August and Tava Merka. Left behind to cherish her amazing memories are her daughters: April Henrichs and husband Bill and Diane Smith and husband Ron; grandchildren: Amy Eck, Laurie Townsend and husband Brad and Staci Denson; great grandchildren: Emerson and Whittman Eck, Karma, Delilah and Cambria Naylor, and Connor Townsend; siblings: Helen Maynard, Ivy Christansen, and Eugene Merka; and many other numerous friends and family members. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday July 2, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Angleton Cemetery with Pastor Brad DuBose and Pastor David Maynard officiating.
