Marilyn D. Ortman Of Arlington Heights Marilyn D. Ortman was born on November 4, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois to Irving and Caroline (nee Ringhofer) Medlinger. She died Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at Good Shepherd Hospital, Cuba Township. Marilyn had a zest for life and her passions were time spent with family and friends. A city kid, she grew up on Cleveland Avenue in Chicago. After getting married in 1946 to James Mackey, the family would move to North Barrington in 1952 where they would reside until 1970. Later in life, she married Frank Ortman and started a career at Motorola where she made many long-lasting friends. In retirement, Marilyn's passions included travel, theatre, community events, and of course cherished time spent with the family. Marilyn is survived by her sons, James Mackey, III and Robert (Kim) Mackey; her grandchildren, Kevin Mackey, Shannon (William) Etnyre, Kelly (Rob) Allen, and, Lauren Mackey; her great-grandchildren, Emery Etnyre, and, Mac Allen; and her cousins, Joy Tierney, and Joyce Soder. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Mackey, Jr, and Frank Ortman; her parents and her daughter-in-law Linda Mackey. Visitation from 9:00 am until time of funeral service at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Committal service following at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
