Loyd "Leon" Lowe, passed away June 29, 2021 at home in Thornton, Texas.

 

Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 10AM on July 2, 2021 at the Blue Water Cemetery in Livingston, Texas under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. 

 

Leon was born on January 15, 1943 in Liberty, Texas to James Everet Lowe and Bessie A. Bush. He grew up in Polk, Texas. 

 

On February 17, 1965, Leon married Sarah Carol Zavada. With this beautiful marriage came Terry Leon Lowe, Timothy Loyd Lowe, Tony Lee Lowe and Connie Rene Lowe. Leon raised his family near the Hull/Batson line while working in the oilfield. After the passing of Sarah in 2008, Leon moved to Thornton with his brother, Perry, where he found his best friend, JoAnn Archer. 

 

Leon loved fishing, gardening, cooking, playing cards, and his family. He always made sure everyone had plenty to eat. 

 

Leon was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Lowe; his father J.E. Lowe; his brothers Ancel Richard Lowe, James Cleo Lowe, Marlin Ray Lowe, Deltion Lowe and Levi Lowe; his sisters "Mamie" Elizabeth Fore, Lois Marie Daniels and Willie Hall; and late wife, Sarah Carol Lowe. 

 

Leon is survived by loving partner JoAnn Archer of Thornton; sons Terry Lowe of Azle, Timothy Lowe and wife Billie Faye of San Antonio, Tony Lowe of Zavalla; daughters Connie Lowe of Lancing, TN and Freida Shaw of Jasper; brother Perry Singleton Lowe of Thornton; sister Emma Lou Spears and husband Lester of Cleveland; many nieces and nephews; grandchildren Angela Smith, Katie Long, Tanner Lowe, Tyler Lowe, Jordan Lowe, Spencer Lowe, Savannah Hanks, Carson Hanks, Cheyenne Lowe, and Taylorann Lowe. Also holding a special place in his heart were Kenneth Doan and wife Lizabeth of Henderson, Kimberly Carter and husband Allen of Farrar, Joshua Doan and wife Jamie of Henderson, Brooke Capps and husband Garrett of Gilbert, AZ, Ashley Doan of Fort Worth, and Claylin Carter of Farrar.
