George Henry Schoenmeyer Jr. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at his home. Age 77 years. The son of the late Betty (Spear) and George Henry Schoenmeyer Sr. was born June 23, 1944 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was a graduate of Arthur Hill Tech High School, attended Delta College and received his bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University. He married Susan Goodman, October 8, 1966. His wife of 54 years survives him. George was employed by General Motors, Saginaw Steering Gear, retiring as a Assistant Superintendant with over 30 years of service. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church on Brockway. He enjoyed the outdoor, hunting and fishing and was a member and past board member of the Saginaw Field and Steam Club. Surviving besides his wife, Susan, are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gregory Schoenmeyer; Jason and Melissa Schoenmeyer; four grandchildren, Ian, Ava, Caleb and Will; three brothers, two sisters and their spouses, Chuck Schoenmeyer; John Schoenmeyer; Betty Romes; Dale and Jayne Schoenmeyer; Lois and Pete Heagany; a sister-in-law, Patty Schoenmeyer; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Art and Connie Goodman; many nieces and nephews. A brother, Brian Schoenmeyer, a sister-in-law, Jan Schoenmeyer, three brothers-in-law, Craig Romes, Tom Jacobi and Jim Heagler have predeceased him. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2021, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4705 Brockway Rd. Saginaw. Rev. Andy Retberg will officiate. Friends may visit with family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Saginaw.
