Marilyn Roether of Meridian, Idaho died at home on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Marilyn was born on June 6, 1936 in Monterey Park, California to Sheldon and Ethel McIntire. She grew up in Monrovia along with her beloved brother Donald “Donnie”. Donnie gave Marilyn her first dog which led to her lifelong love of animals.
Marilyn met her husband, William “Bill” Roether, on a blind date. They were married for 63 years and had two children, Julia and Clark.
Marilyn enjoyed camping with her family, golfing, spending summers at the beach and anything tie-dyed. She was a devoted mother and took great interest in her children’s activities and spent many hours driving them to and from their different pursuits. She was an excellent cook and seamstress.
She was very involved in P.E.O., a philanthropic organization dedicated to woman’s education. She made lifetime friends in both the Valencia TW chapter and later in the Meridian AD chapter. While in Chapter TW she served on many committees and in almost every chapter role including president, vice president, and secretary.
Marilyn will be greatly missed by her husband Bill, daughter Julia, son Clark, her brother Donald, her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
