<p>Mary Opal Spencer Martin, 94, of Mt. Sterling, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling Hospital surrounded by her loving family. &nbsp;She was born in Menifee County on March 7, 1927 to the late George Turner Spencer and Ethel Mae Johnson Spencer.</p> <p>Mary has been a resident of Montgomery County for sixty plus years coming from Menifee County.&nbsp; She was of the Christian faith, a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed; flowers and plants, going to the casino and playing bingo, watching fireworks and cat naps, her family meant the world to her.&nbsp; Mary never spoke a bad word about anyone.&nbsp; She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.</p> <p>Mary is survived by two sons; Louie Wayne Martin of Mt. Sterling and Billy Ray Martin (Donna) of Sharpsburg; four daughters; Linda Balderas of Mt. Sterling, Norma Sue Jones of Mt. Sterling, Rita Mae Maloney (Glenn Rose) of Irvine and Desarae Brymer (Neil) of Louisville; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren;&nbsp; her cat; Sneakers.</p> <p>In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by her husband Louie Martin; stepmother; Bernice Johnson Spencer; special cousin; Elsie &quot;Hook&quot; Beer.</p> <p>Funeral service for Mary Martin will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 12:00PM, visitation will be prior from 10:00AM-12:00PM, both will be held at Queen Street Christian Fellowship, Mt. Sterling. Committal will follow at the Martin-Willoughby Cemetery, Jeffersonville.&nbsp; Pastor Donald Hale will be officiating.</p> <p>Pallbearers:&nbsp; Jerry Keller, Bobby Maloney, Austin Keller, Larry Willoughby, Neil Brymer, Art Baker, Keith Nerby and Malakhi Johnson.</p>
