Wilson - Funeral Services for Mrs. Violet Jean (Moore) Kennedy, 93, longtime resident of Wilson is scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with her grandson Dustin Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery of Wilson.

Jean was born on June 11,1928 in Lone Grove, OK to the late Mr. Finnis Moore and Mrs. Hattie (Vaughn) Moore. She departed from this life on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 in Ardmore, OK.

Jean was raised in the community of Cheek, south of Lone Grove. She attended school at Lone Grove and thereafter married John Luther "Jack" Kennedy on Nov. 18, 1944 at Ardmore. They primarily made their home in Wilson, where they enjoyed residing the rest of their lives. Jean was a devout homemaker who was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making many quilts. She and Jack took many camping trips, always loving to fish. Jack preceded her in death on June 16, 2012 and since Jean has remained at Wilson where she has enjoyed the love of her family.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Sue Thompson; brother, Herman Tankersley and a sister, Irene Bridgeman.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Roberts and husband Jay of Ardmore; sons, Wayne Kennedy and wife Darlene and David Kennedy and wife Missy, all of Lone Grove; grandchildren, Dustin, Kim, Tony, Amy, Kelsey, Kaci, Cade, Kelly, Brenda, Donald, Donna, C.W., Lonnie and Tammy; numerous great grandchildren; brother, Alvin Tankersley of Canton, TX; numerous other family and friends.

Casket bearers are Tony Roberts, Shane Richardson, Dustin Kennedy, Preston Pawnee-Boydston, Cade Kennedy, Wayne Kennedy and David Kennedy.

Honorary bearer is David Shores.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Friday evening at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
