Thomas “Thom” Leonard Flohrs passed away peacefully in the early morning of Tuesday, June 28th, 2021 at the age of 73 after a long battle with cancer. Thom was born in Pueblo, Colorado in 1947 to his father Daniel Flohrs and mother, Lee Linville. Thom enlisted into the Navy after high school and served three tours in the Vietnam War aboard the U.S.S. Jason as a navigator. Thom had a long law enforcement career working for Manitou Springs Police Department, Park County Sheriff’s Office, and Summit County Sheriff’s Office. During his career, Thom worked on a number of high-profile cases and was a member of the FBI Organized Crime Taskforce, and a Special Agent for the DEA VICE/Narcotics unit. While working for Park County, Thom met the love of his life Martha Spangler. They married in Fairplay, Colorado, and together they had two children, Aaron and Andria. Thom found his solace in nature, visiting the mountains and fly-fishing the rivers. He always had a good-natured sense of humor and cutting wit, and would share it with anyone he met. He valued his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Thom was preceded in death by his parents and by the love of his life. He is survived by his sister, Tonie Anderson; his children, Aaron Flohrs and Andria Ricard; grandchildren, Maya and Ethan Ricard and Wyatt and Cody Flohrs. A burial service is planned for Tuesday, July 6th at 9 am at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, at 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Immediately following there will be a reception at the Tamarac Apartments, 750 E. Cheyenne Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado. All are invited to attend.
