Rosalee Seljan

Rosalee Seljan, age 87 of San Diego, California passed away at 12:15am on Tuesday, June 29 th, 2021 at Sharp Grossmont Hospital. Memorial service honoring her life will be held at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma, California on Monday, July 26 th , 2021 at 9:30am in the Gazebo service area. Rosalee was born to Walter and Olive Burch in Mississippi. She grew up as a young girl in the Washington D.C. area before her parents settled in Los Angeles, California. She was one of five children, all who have passed before her, including her twin sister Annalee. Rosalee married Joseph Seljan and had five children who blessed her with eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren with another one on the way in September. Rosalee also had a long career in the restaurant industry including District Manager, General Manager, Server, and even cook at times. She was indeed a phenomenal cook and loved to entertain always taking care of all who passed through her door whether it was her home, your home or the restaurant she was working at. Holidays were always her favorite time to entertain. She loved having family and friends to share in the love of a meal together. She loved so much she even started writing a cookbook so the “family” recipes would be passed down from generation to generation. Calling her an avid crocheter is an understatement. It was a calling for her. She loved to make someone their “forever” blanket and did just that with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Reading and watching war movies were among other favorite things to do. She could pick up a book and read it in a day or two never wanting to put it down. Rosalee’s passion though was to make sure everyone she came in contact with new about Jesus. She would ask anyone, “Do you know Jesus?” She was a faithful servant and is dancing with Jesus. Rosalee is survived by four children, ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, her eldest daughter and one of her granddaughters. To all those fabulous family and friends who passed before her, they waited patiently as the Lord was not done with her. They are together now saying “It’s about time, we have been waiting for you”. We will truly miss our Queen GiGi Rest in Peace Mom, Grandma, GiGi
