Joseph R. Ummarino, age 90 years of Cherry Hill, formerly of Pennsauken and Atlantic City, passed away peacefully at home on June 29, 2021. Devoted father of Jeanette Simms (Larry), Vincent Ummarino, Matthew Ummarino and the late Joseph Mitch and Lawrence Ummarino. Loving grandfather of Joseph Mitch, Jeanelle Simms, Jeanette Cairns, Larry Simms III "Jr", Joelle Simms, Matthew Ummarino, Joseph Ummarino, Dominic Ummarino, Micahel Ummarino and the late Josette Simms and great grandfather of Vinny, Santino, Phoenix and Finnley. Dear brother of the late Gabriel. Prior to retirement, Mr. U was owner/operator of Joe Ummarino and Sons in Pennsauken since 1953. In 1988, he opened a bar in Atlantic City called Mr. U's and then opened a second location in Hammonton. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion. Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 9:30-11 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Rd, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11AM. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
