MARBLEHEAD — Charles (Chaz) Scott Nierman of Marblehead entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 24, 2021 at the age of 61 after a sudden illness. Chaz was the devoted son of his parents Henry and Edith Nierman. Chaz loved dogs and adored his dog Jack, a fluffy Border Collie who was his best friend until the very end. While in the process of fighting for his life, Chaz still managed to look out for Jack’s wellbeing. In his youth, Chaz attended Milton Academy, and then proceeded on to Dartmouth University for his undergraduate education. Shortly thereafter, he graduated with his J.D. from Boston University School of Law. Charles was a gifted attorney who spent much of his free time mentoring other attorneys. He was a voracious reader, and could be found curling up with a good book any chance he could. A great conversationalist with an impeccable sense of humor, Chaz loved to enjoy a glass of wine at family events and light up the room with his thoughts about law, politics, pop culture, and his beloved New England sports teams. Chaz was a quiet philanthropist; he was kind and generous to many in need. He helped his clients financially, providing them transportation, doing pro bono work, and more, and he never asked for anything in return or bragged about his altruism. Charles was a prince among men, loved by many, and will be sorely missed. Graveside service at the Pride of Lynn Cemetery, Lake Shore Road, Lynn on Wednesday June 30at 10 AM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Boston or to a charity of your choice.
