Gail D. Platzke

Gail D. Platzke, 79, of Monclova, OH, passed away on June 17, 2021 in his home after a long illness. He was born in Toledo, OH, on April 7, 1942, the son of the late Melvin and Jane Platzke. Gail married Patricia (Northern) on January 30, 1965; she preceded him in death on December 11, 2016. Gail was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve as well as a retired Ohio State Trooper, serving for 31 years. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and playing cards with family and friends as well as making improvements to the home that he built alongside his bothers and father in 1970. Gail is survived by his children, Denean (Brigg) Brockmeyer, Michelle Richards, Laura (Lance) Hageman and Brian (Sarah) Platzke; along with ten grandchildren: Brittney, Lance, Kyle, Sean, Aaron, Noah, Quinn, Lucy, Zane and Deacon; three great-grandchildren: Nolan, Brayden and Hudson; his brother, Charles M. Platzke; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
