Judith “Judy” K. Depp, 81, of Columbus, passed away at 1:35 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Judy was born on November 2, 1939, in Jonesville, Indiana, the daughter of Wesley and Henrietta Hill Fleetwood. On April 4, 1959, she married Richard “Dick” T. Depp. Judy was among the inaugural graduating class of Columbus North High School in 1957 where she participated in cheerleading and student council. She then attended Indiana University. She was a devoted and loving mother of two. Once her children were grown, she began working at Arvin Industries in the personnel department. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening, reading and spending time with her three grandchildren. Judy was guided through life by her Christian faith. In seeking God’s presence, she was courageous and steadfast both in health and illness. She was strong in her beliefs, admirably self-sufficient, and cared for her family with warmth and an open heart. Never without spirited advice, her most frequent and poignant reminders were simply to love each other and enjoy life. Survivors include her son, R. Brian (Kim) Depp of Indianapolis; daughter, Natalie Stott of Franklin; grandchildren M. Chad (Hanna) Stott, Matthew T. (April) Stott, Isabella Depp; brother, Randall Fleetwood; brother-in-law, William P. (Barbara) Depp of Brentwood, TN; nieces Susan (Dan) Drukenmiller, Amy (Chuck) LaLance, Kelly Hatton; and uncle, William Hill of Cleveland. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Richard. In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation will take place with private services for family and friends to be held at her home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, in honor of family members impacted by the disease.
