GIBSON, Jimmie David - age 78, of Durand, passed away June 19, 2021. Funeral Services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd, Swartz Creek. Rev. David Owen officiating. Visitation 11AM - 1 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a contribution to the Jimmie Gibson Memorial Fund.

Jimmie was born September 24, 1942 in Arbyrd, MO, the son of  David and Alice (Pruett) Gibson. He married Joni Cohoon on October 25, 1991. He retired from General Motors.  Jimmie was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles. He liked to travel. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in Atlanta, MI. Jimmie especially loved his family.

Jimmie is survived by his wife of 30 years Joni; sons, Michael (Shannon) Gibson, Matthew (Janet) Gibson; grandchildren, Drew (Brittany) Gibson, Lynn, William, and Wesley; sister Judy (John) Pidgeon; brother Marion "Peewee" (Jackie) Gibson; mother-in-law Joan Cohoon; brothers-in-law, Wayne Cohoon and Henry Cohoon;  many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Billie, Sue, Donald, Jerri, Mary  Donnie, Jean, Artimae.
