GARLAND---Mr. Robert Boyce "Billy" Garland, age 84 of Orange Park, FL went home to be with the Lord on June 16, 2021. Billy was born on October 8, 1936 in Clifton, SC to parents Jay Isaac Garland and Odessa Green Garland. He would go on to serve our country proudly in the United States Navy. Billy was a bit of a practical joker and great story teller. He could keep an audience for hours with his tales of the Navy, owning his business Southern Coatings Paint Co., his rural upbringing in South Carolina, or any subject that had been on his mind that day. His greatest gift he could give was his unwavering love and support for his family and friends. That love withstood many losses that Billy would overcome with time and the Grace of God above. Billy is survived by his devoted and loving wife Amy Garland; his daughter Shelby Garland (Chuck); his grandchildren Chuck Foster, Jr. (Colleen), Sandy Smith (Luke), Mandy Gaskins (Nick), and Kyla Garland; also many other loving family members and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Shiela Scruggs; his son Robert Bryan "Billy, Jr." Garland; and his brother Walter Louis "Hank" Garland. Funeral services in celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday June 23, 2021 at the graveside in Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL. Billy will be laid to rest in the Garden of Everlasting Life with his son Billy, Jr. and his brother Hank "Sugarfoot" Garland. There's been a joyous reunion in heaven, and Billy was looking forward to that day.
