Oris Edward Reynolds Obituary
Ed Reynolds, beloved husband, father and grandfather entered eternal peace on June 15, 2021 in Las Cruces, NM at the family home at the age of 76. He will be greatly missed but has left us with many special memories.
He was born in Mena, Arkansas on August 14, 1944 to Oris and Novella Reynolds, the third of six children.
He was a US Air Force veteran stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base and served overseas in Okinawa.
Ed enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 US states as well as China, Japan, the Caribbean, Mexico and Canada. He also enjoyed traveling around the country with the family in his RV. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed collecting and shooting firearms. His other favorite activities included hunting, camping, fishing, boating, and driving his ’66 Corvette Stingray. He was an avid reader and enjoyed reading classic books and poetry, history and warfare, science fiction, and other genre.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lynne Reynolds; daughter Stacey Hokit and husband Adam of Las Cruces, NM; son Michael Reynolds and wife Dana of Athens, AL; four grandsons, Eric Plemmons of Mesilla Park, NM; Kevin, Cameron, and Cade Reynolds of Athens, AL; one granddaughter, Courtney Thompson and husband Drew of Las Cruces, NM; and two great grandsons, Wyatt Plemmons of Mesilla Park, NM and Oliver Thompson of Las Cruces, NM; sister Janelle Newberry and husband Gale of Portales, NM; brothers Ken Reynolds and wife Lana of Charlotte, NC, and Rick Reynolds and wife Laura of Portales, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Oris and Novella Reynolds, sister Irene Burand and brother Larry Reynolds; mother and father-in-law Mary and Robert Cook; and brother-in-law Gary Cook.
Serving as Pallbearers are his grandsons Eric Plemmons, Kevin Reynolds, Cameron Reynolds, and Cade Reynolds.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 25, 2021, at Getz Funeral Home at 1410 E. Bowman, Las Cruces NM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces, NM.
