Diane L. Sowden, 62, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, RI. Born in Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Everett L. and the late Shirley M. (Moss) Sowden. Diane was employed with the J. Arthur Trudeau Center, loved Elvis, bingo, bowling, Uno and rummy. She lived a short, but exuberant life. Was known to "work the room" at any type of gathering and was truly everyone's friend. She had a strong, spunky personality with a wonderful sense of humor always teasing and teaching us that we shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. She will also be remembered by her passion for spaghetti and meatballs, her 'one second' back rubs and loved to go shopping to buy a couple things. She is survived by three siblings: Gail E. Bryan (husband Mark) of Exeter, RI, Nancy A. Sowden Warwick, RI and Richard A. Sowden (wife Karen) of West Greenwich, RI; nieces and nephews: Keri, Kevin, Amanda, Michael, Melissa, Adam and Benjamin and grandnieces and nephews to Kayle, Jayden, Elaine, Lyra Mae and Xander. Diane's funeral service will take place at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, RI on Wednesday, November 2 10:00 AM followed with interment in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
