William R. Palmisano Obituary

William R. "Bill" Palmisano, 50, with his family by his side, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI. He was born in Providence, RI to the late Anthony and Christine (Bernardo) Palmisano. Being in the kitchen was Bill's passion. He learned how to cook from a very young age and seemed appropriate that he spent the majority of his life in the restaurant industry as a chef and banquet manager. He had also worked at Citizens Bank close to two decades as a project manager. Needless to say, friends and family would look forward; not only to his cooking but his baking as well. He didn't just win people over with his cooking skills, but he was just an overall friendly guy. There weren't too many places that he went where he either knew someone or became friends with someone. Bottom line it seemed like he knew everyone. Those who knew Bill would say that he was a kid at heart and always loved to make people laugh. Even though faced with his own mortality, Bill knew how to make a sad situation positive and to enjoy the time he had left rather than to dwell on the bad. It was not unexpected for him to pass through a room full of people wearing a silly prop or prank someone and carry on like normal. Although his personality was what made him special, being a father was more the catalyst for becoming who he was. His love for his four children was unfathomable. He left good memories and was the best father he could be. He especially enjoyed Ft. Lauderdale and the beaches there; furthermore he had made it his home for a brief while. Bill is survived by his four children: Zachariah, Hannah, Victoria and Alexandra Palmisano; four siblings: Anthony Palmisano, Denise Bell, Steven Palmisano and Robert Palmisano; his friend and former wife Coleen P. Palmisano and several loving extended family members and friends. He is predeceased by his sister Lorrie Burns. Bill's Life Celebration will take place at Praise Tabernacle Church, 330 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI on Saturday, October 29 at 9:00 AM. All other burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family to defray the funeral expense would be appreciated. Funeral Home: Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home 659 East Greenwich Avenue West Warwick, RI US 02893
