<p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Warren Newcomb, age 93, passed away at his home near Cambridge on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. He was born September 4, 1927, to parents W. D. and Pearl (Cotton) Newcomb. Warren attended country school through 8th grade at a one-room schoolhouse one-half mile east of his farm home. He attended and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1945. He then worked the family farm with his father until he was drafted into the United States&nbsp;Army on March 6, 1946, where he served in the Army Air Corps. He was stationed on the Philippine Islands where he helped guard Japanese POW&#39;s after WW II had ended. After being Honorably discharged on May 28, 1947, he returned home, using the money he had saved during his deployment, to buy his first quarter of farm ground. Warren remained living on the family farm, homesteaded by his grandfather Newcomb, until his death.</p> <p>Warren loved to visit and always invited anyone who drove into the yard to come into his home for coffee and good conversation. Warren remained a bachelor all of his life, but he enjoyed time spent with his nieces and nephews and enjoyed going into town for supper.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his parents W. D. and Pearl Newcomb, an infant sister Phyllis, his four brothers Paul (Wilma), Ralph (Ruby), George (Roberta), and Roger (Marilyn), his sister Esther (Harold) Nickerson, and two&nbsp;nieces: Marie (Ray) Degner, Glenda Fantoni; four&nbsp;great nephews: Mike and Barry Degner; Kyle and Tyler Nickerson.</p> <p>Warren is survived by 15 nieces and nephews, a host of great nieces and nephews, and many good friends.</p> <p>Funeral services will be held at the&nbsp;Lockenour-Jones Mortuary on Monday, June 21st, 2021,&nbsp;at 10:30&nbsp;AM&nbsp;with Bill Weaver officiating.&nbsp; Visitation will&nbsp;be held on&nbsp;Sunday, June 20th, 2021,&nbsp;from 3:00 p.m.to&nbsp;7:00 p.m.&nbsp;Memorials may be left to Rural Med Hospice in Warren&rsquo;s name.&nbsp; Friends may leave&nbsp;on-line condolences at lockenourfh.com.&nbsp;&nbsp;Lockenour-Jones Mortuary entrusted with arrangements.&nbsp;</p>

Funeral services will be held at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary on Monday, June 21st, 2021, at 10:30 AM with Bill Weaver officiating.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 20th, 2021, from 3:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be left to Rural Med Hospice in Warren’s name.  Friends may leave on-line condolences at lockenourfh.com.  Lockenour-Jones Mortuary entrusted with arrangements.
